Learn how Auburn has sped up the ID issuance process and seamlessly integrated this into their Physical Access Control System and related technologies. Students, Faculty, and Staff now gain automatic access to predefined spaces on campus without any user interaction – including the issuance of their ID. Auburn utilizes both mobile credentials in Apple and Google wallet and iris and face biometrics at certain locations. The integrations in place allow the system to be setup initially and just respond accordingly afterwards making for a smooth process.
After completing this session, participants will be aware of several tools available to help streamline their ID and PACS processes including:
– Using technology to capture photo and government ID
– Utilizing Active Directory groups for predefined physical access to spaces
– Integrating Residence Hall assignments into PACS for easy access to rooms
– Leveraging biometrics based on ID photos
– Scheduling doors and granting access based on event schedule software
Rob Stanford is the System Administrator for Auburn University’s physical access control system, OnGuard. As a Senior Application Systems Analyst with Auburn’s Facilities Management, his responsibilities also include supporting other enterprise software solutions and campus stakeholders. As part of the technology staff within Facilities, he helps to improve business processes for clients campus-wide and internal as well as provide the workforce with tools needed to do their job well.
